Adult Legos

Another crazy week. After getting the keys last Saturday to the new piso, we knew that we needed to get the new piso set up before the sisters time in the Airbnb was up. If you have been watching the stock market for IKEA you will have seen their stock go up on Monday as Hermana Musser almost melted her mission credit card there. Somehow with a lot of luck, and some mad Tetris skills, we were able to get it all in the van and over to the piso. We then spent the rest of the day trying to set things up and put things away. I was very grateful for the drill as I assembled 4 desks, a dining room table, and 4 dining room chairs. The Elders were wrestling with getting wardrobes put together, and tried to assemble the bunk bed that we bought. The problem was that the bunk bed ended up being a student bed that is like a bunk bed, but only one bed and space underneath for a desk. We had to take that back to IKEA and get a new bed. We ended up buying some Kebab for the missionaries so we could have the fuel to keep going. I ended up leaving my drill with them with the promise that they would return it on Wednesday at Zone Conference. They told me that it had just enough juice to keep them going up until the very last two allen wrench screws, which they had to do by hand.

Tuesday was a sprint to get all our Monday stuff done and prepare for Zone Conference. President and Sister Heckmann were in Madrid so that they could attend the wedding of one of his first assistants in the mission. So, instead of having our normal split of two Barcelona area zones on Tuesday, and the other two on Wednesday, we had all four on Wednesday. It was super-crazy trying to feed 150 people. On top of it, we had to buy a bunch of stuff because Carolina had forgotten about the salad, bread, and snack for the first break. Somehow it all came together, and so Thursday and Friday were basically spent catching up and recovering from PTSD!

Saturday, we spent getting our shopping done, getting my hair cut, and getting some piso keys copied. After that, we decided to go out to dinner. There is a little Peruvian food place not far from our piso where the food is both tasty and plentiful. We were able to watch a couple of Olympic events while we were there as well. Top that off with being able to talk to precious family members after that and it was a great P-day.

Today at Church we found out that one of our converts, Luisa, has basically lost her job because of struggles with citizenship. We decided to invite her to dinner and so she went home with us and hung out while Brenda cooked a wonderful meal for us all. While we were waiting for the chicken to bake, Luisa decided to pick up the Book of Mormon and read in Ether. Brenda asked her if she had seen the Book of Mormon videos, and she said that she had not seen most of them. I quickly set up the computer and we watched the video of the Brother of Jared, and crossing the ocean. After dinner we put on the video depicting 3 Ne 17 where the Savior blesses the people and Angels come down to surround their little ones. The Spirit was really thick and it was a great time to testify to her that the Savior is mindful of her struggles and He is there for her. I hope it helped her.

It was kind of a nice exclamation point after the Come Follow Me curriculum this week on Enoch and how amazed he was that the Lord is not only aware of each us, but weeps for us as well. I love the fact that we have a God who cares that deeply for us as individuals. If there is anything that I have learned while being here, it is that Heavenly Father really is That God! He really does care about the details of our lives.

We love you all Billions, and hope that you have an amazing week!

Another week without photos. Sorry!
