Rainy Days and New Challenges

This was kind of a stressful week, yet there were miracles as well. One of the challenges was a water heater that went out for some sisters. The problem here in spain is that when the water heater goes out the heating often goes with it. So, they have been without heat, and without hot water for a couple of weeks. The way things happened the owner decided that they didn't want to work with our property management company and so we had to order the replacement and arrange to have it installed. We hoped that it would come quickly after we ordered it since it is from a spanish company. However, it took a week of waiting before they finally told us that tomorrow it will be delivered to the office. We will then need to take it to Terrassa which is about a 45 minute drive. We hope that the technician will be able to get it installed quickly. We shall see.

Another little challenge was that all of the missionary debit cards stopped working! It took them a day or two to get things fixed globally, but there are still a few missionaries who are having card problems. They are having to withdraw cash from ATMs to buy anything because their cards don't work. We're hoping that it will get resolved within the next day or two. Again, we shall see.

We have certainly been experiencing "The Rain in Spain", but it doesn't just stay "on the plain". So it is finally acting more like winter here. I understand that in the interior they are dealing with snow, so there are certainly benefits to being on the coast. On Saturday, we decided to go check out a little "Churro and Chocolate" place down in the Gothic section of Barcelona. It was kind of fun, although wet, to wind our way through the narrow winding streets and alleys through the rain. It was worth it though because unlike the traditional churros and chocolate, this place uses their own special brand of just melted chocolate for dipping. It was heavenly!

Speaking of heavenly, my sweetheart decided to make her famous cinnamon rolls. The bad news is that she wanted to take them into the office, so I didn't get to eat them all! DANG IT!

This week's Come Follow Me lesson focussed on the creation. I have often been amazed at the fact that Heavenly Father made so much beauty in nature. He didn't have to. He did it because He loves giving us something to lighten the heart, and lift us up. After church today, we walked home right after the rain quit. The air was fresh and clean, and it was pleasant. Something to appreciate from a loving Father. Rainbows, sunsets, blue skies, mountain vistas, beautiful trees and flowers, are all gifts. We should remember who the Giver of those gifts truly is.

We love you all! We hope that your have a marvelous week.

Sorry, but there aren't any other photos this week.
